Max Christie Misses Out On NBA Accolade
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Second-year Los Angeles Lakers swingman Max Christie may have been passed over for the NBA's Rising Stars Challenge at this year's All-Star Weekend, slated for Friday, February 16th in Utah.

Per Ayrton Ostly of USA Today, the 10 second-year pros who have been selected to appear comprise Orlando Magic power forward Paolo Banchero, Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Jalen Williams, Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe, Detroit Pistons combo guard Jaden Ivey and center Jalen Duren, Houston Rockets power forward Jabari Smith Jr., Sacramento Kings power forward Keegan Murray, Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin, Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler, and New Orleans Pelicans guard Dyson Daniels.

Christie has shown plenty of promise, but he just hasn't managed to log the kinds of minutes his peers have racked up to this point.

Darvin Ham has played the 20-year-old Michigan State product for an average 16.9 minutes a night, during which he's posted averages of 4.8 points on .416/.333/.800 shooting splits, 2.6 rebounds, and one assist a night.
